Important Notes
- The platform uses the Turnitin International Instructor version, consistent with the version used by most overseas institutions.
- Submitted files will not be stored by Turnitin. The platform strictly protects user privacy.
- Multiple checks on the same paper within a short period will yield similar results, but database updates over longer intervals may cause variations.
- If the report is not generated within 15 minutes, please contact customer service for assistance.
AI Detection
What is AI Detection
AI detection uses algorithms to analyze paper content and determine what percentage may have been generated by AI tools (such as ChatGPT). More and more universities are incorporating AI detection into their paper review process.
Turnitin offers two AI detection methods:
- Turnitin AI Detection: Provided alongside the plagiarism check, with results consistent with your school's Turnitin.
- Comprehensive AI Detection: Powered by multiple AI detection APIs commonly used by overseas institutions, providing comprehensive reference results.
AI Score Meaning
The AI detection rate is expressed as a percentage. A higher value indicates more content identified as AI-generated.
If the Turnitin AI rate shows as *%, it means the actual value is between 1%-19%. Since Turnitin's update, this range no longer displays specific values, and reports won't have color markings. If your school also uses Turnitin International Instructor Edition for AI detection, the result will also show as *%.
Detection Notes
- Comprehensive AI detection and Turnitin AI detection use different algorithms, so results may differ. We recommend using your school's detection tool as the standard.
- AI detection algorithms are continuously upgraded, so the same paper may show slight variations when checked at different times.
- We recommend running an AI detection check before final submission to ensure the results are within your school's requirements.
Reduce AI / Similarity
Introduction
The AI Reduction feature uses smart rewriting algorithms to lower the AI detection rate while preserving the academic meaning of the original text. The Similarity Reduction feature lowers similarity by rephrasing sentences or removing redundant expressions.
How to Use
- Go to the "Reduce AI" page, upload the document to be processed, or paste text directly.
- Select the paragraphs that need AI or similarity reduction. The system will generate rewritten results within 1-5 minutes.
- Review the rewritten content, and download or copy the results once satisfied.
We recommend uploading documents rather than pasting text to preserve original formatting (tables, formulas, images, etc.). Processing two to three paragraphs at a time yields the best results.
Tips
- If you need both similarity and AI reduction, we recommend reducing similarity first, then AI. Similarity reduction may slightly affect the AI rate, while AI reduction won't significantly alter the original meaning.
- For engineering papers or content dense with technical terminology, similarity reduction may be limited, as specialized expressions cannot be freely substituted.
- After processing, we recommend running another plagiarism/AI check to confirm the results meet requirements.
About Similarity Reduction
The similarity reduction feature rewrites paragraphs flagged as similar by Turnitin. It is most effective for entire paragraphs highlighted as matching a single source.
If all duplicate sources in the report are below 1%, it is typically not considered plagiarism. We recommend confirming specific requirements with your professor or TA.
